This page explains the product's current privacy behavior in plain language. It is not a claim that ChoreCade has a special regulatory certification or zero-data-retention agreement.
What the app keeps
ChoreCade stores the household, profiles, chores, assignments, submissions, points, rewards, and the parent-controlled home and capability choices needed to run the family game. It does not ask for an address, coordinates, school, or property records.
What AI receives
Children are represented as Player A, Player B, and similar aliases. Planning may use ages, parent-confirmed capabilities, recent workload counts, household preferences, project text, and photos the parent deliberately selects. Optional profile or sensory notes are excluded unless a parent turns on the default-off consent setting; known names are redacted before any request.
OpenAI processing
Server-side requests use the OpenAI Responses API with application storage disabled through store: false. OpenAI still processes the request to return the result, and provider-side safety or abuse retention may apply. ChoreCade does not log prompts, photos, names, private notes, signed photo links, or model reasoning.
Photo handling
Project-planning photos are normalized, stripped of embedded metadata, stored privately, and exposed only through short-lived server-generated links. They are deleted after a successful draft. A failed session keeps them only for an explicit retry or discard, and abandoned planning photos expire after 24 hours. Chore proof photos are separate submission records and are not part of this automatic project cleanup.
AI proposes; parents publish
AI cannot publish missions, award points, change ledgers, or override safety rules. Projects remain editable drafts until a parent reviews them and uses the Parent PIN. Adult-only work stays off child mission boards and carries no personal points.
